Greek utility PPC and Amazon Web Services signed a binding memorandum for a planned data centre at PPC's Agios Dimitrios complex in Western Macedonia, Balkan Green Energy News reported on 18 September. [1]
PPC would provide the site, buildings and energy infrastructure, while AWS would install the information-technology equipment. The report put each side's expected investment near €1 billion and said completion is targeted for 2028. [1]
ContextThe first phase is designed for 300 MW, with an option to expand to 1 GW. PPC said it plans renewable and behind-the-meter supply; these remain project plans under the memorandum, not completed capacity. [1]
