Greek transmission operator IPTO has submitted a ten-year development plan for consultation, Balkan Green Energy News reported on 14 September. The 2027–2036 proposal envisages €9 billion of investment, with roughly 80% earmarked for the period to 2030, and aims to accommodate more renewable generation. [1]
Planned works include island interconnections, substation upgrades and the Greece–Cyprus Great Sea Interconnector. The report puts new links with Albania and Turkey in 2031 and a connection with Italy in 2033. These are proposed investment and commissioning schedules, not completed infrastructure or guaranteed delivery dates. [1]
