A Moldovan Border Police patrol found drone fragments outside Briceni at about 16:50 on 24 September, roughly 1.7 kilometres inside the country from the state border. The area was isolated and specialist services were called to examine the site. [1]

A subsequent explosives-team assessment found that the aircraft had detonated about 10 metres above the ground after hitting trees, but detected no explosive substances. Authorities removed the fragments for examination and said there was no danger to the public; the notice did not identify the aircraft's operator or origin. [1]
