Croatia adds Chunmoo to its long-range artillery plans
Zagreb has approved 18 South Korean launchers, with plans to operate them alongside HIMARS.
Croatia has approved the acquisition of 18 K239 Chunmoo rocket launchers. In a 4 September account of Defence Minister Ivan Anušić’s HRT interview, the ministry said the systems would operate alongside US-made HIMARS.
Anušić cited NATO compatibility, cost and capability, and said using different suppliers would reduce dependence on a single manufacturer. Defense News covered the acquisition on 7 September.
ContextThe decision concerns a future capability, not equipment already in operational service. Delivery, training and integration will determine how the procurement changes Croatia’s military options.
