The final breakthrough of the Kvanj Tunnel was marked near Hodbina, south of Mostar, on 7 September. Federation Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić, Transport Minister Andrijana Katić and motorway company director Denis Lasić attended the ceremony, FENA reported. [1]

The 2,645-metre tunnel forms part of the Kvanj–Buna subsection of Corridor Vc, valued at more than €125 million. The project is supported by European Investment Bank financing and EU grants through the Western Balkans Investment Framework, according to SeeNews. [2]

ContextThe breakthrough is a construction milestone rather than the opening of a completed motorway section. Corridor Vc is intended to connect Bosnia more closely with Croatia, Hungary and the Adriatic coast. [2]
